Safety Initiatives

Meito's Safety Initiatives

We improve logistics quality and carry out ongoing improvement activities to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. For our basic policy and objectives regarding the assurance of safety in logistics operations, please see Logistics Operations Safety Management.

Initiatives to Enhance Safety

Given the nature of a logistics company, our operations involve the use of trucks and heavy machinery (forklifts). To assess operational aptitude, we operate a certification system once per year. We also hold various contests (for drivers and forklift operators) to raise awareness and improve skills.

Initiatives to Enhance Quality

We establish service level agreements with our customers and work together with them to maintain and improve quality.
For certain services (cross-border e-commerce logistics solutions), we operate our own in-house training center. Within a facility that can simulate actual deliveries, we provide training to employees engaged in these services and strive to improve their skills. We also place great emphasis on developing the trainers who conduct this training.

[Training Content]

  • Basic Training in Precision Equipment Handling (Loading/Unloading)
Conducted through a combination of classroom study and hands-on practice covering the full sequence of customer service, loading, unpacking, moving, carrying, and installation
  • Specialized Training in Precision Equipment Handling (Loading/Unloading)
Conducted through a combination of classroom study and hands-on practice on the operation of heavy machinery (cranes) and special equipment (lifts, etc.)

Initiatives to Enhance Efficiency

By setting and pursuing targets for company-wide KAIZEN activities (one case per person per month), we aim to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency. As a venue for presenting results, we also hold a KAIZEN Convention (once per year), which serves to improve KAIZEN skills and to horizontally deploy best practices.

"5S" as the Foundation of Our Activities

Our 5S activities go beyond mere tidying; we position them as KAIZEN activities that eliminate overburden, unevenness, and waste.

Purpose To cultivate an organizational climate and culture that lead to security and safety
Goal A workplace where every employee follows the rules
Normal and abnormal conditions can be told apart at a glance, and when a rule is violated, anyone can notice it and correct it immediately.
Benefits of 5S Improved safety, quality, and efficiency
