LT Team (Logistics Technology Team) | Our Strengths

A specialist team with extensive expertise, know-how, and hands-on implementation experience
supporting the Meito Group's cutting-edge "logistics technology capabilities"

Advanced solutions proposed by a team of professionals

How can companies address the labor shortage on the logistics front line and the growing need for smaller-lot handling driven mainly by e-commerce? As one answer, initiatives aiming for full or partial automation of in-warehouse operations such as inbound and outbound processing have been actively rolled out in recent years.

That said, building an automated system requires advanced expertise, an understanding of the latest technology trends, substantial capital investment, operational design capabilities, and implementation know-how. Developing personnel who can cover all of these in-house, or sourcing them externally, takes time and places a heavy burden on the organization. Aren't there many customers who face precisely these concerns?

The Meito Group has established a dedicated organization to support the creation of logistics operations that leverage state-of-the-art logistics technology. Together with our group companies, some 40 specialist staff form the LT (Logistics Technology) Team, responding to the wide range of logistics-reform needs raised by our customers.

LT Team (Logistics Technology Team)

Implementation know-how for logistics robots and information systems

The LT Team fulfills five roles: (1) proposal support (sales support), (2) launch support for new operations (on-site support), (3) improvement and reform support for existing operations, (4) system requirements definition, and (5) support for introducing new technologies. Specifically, when a customer asks us to support a reform project such as revamping their logistics operations or launching a new site, we work through the issues using the process shown in the diagram at right.

To date, the LT Team has taken on the construction of numerous material-handling systems and the development of information systems—including AutoStore, shelf-transport robots, AI cargo-volume forecasting systems, trunk-line network visualization systems, and batch inspection systems—covering everything through to implementation on the logistics front line. The number of projects the team has handled exceeds 100, giving us a wealth of proven results.

We also handle projects overseas as well as domestically, including in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Thailand, and China. Specifically, we have carried out VMI system implementations, the launch of parts-supply (export, etc.) centers, and WMS implementation support.
