Project Overview

This customer, a rapidly growing direct-to-consumer apparel manufacturer brand in the Japanese domestic market, was considering expansion into overseas markets (particularly Asia, North America, and Europe). However, the barriers to entry were extremely high — building EC sites for each country, establishing local subsidiaries, providing multilingual support, and supporting international payments — with an anticipated initial investment in the tens of millions of yen.

The Customer's Challenges

  • Initial investment for overseas market expansion on the scale of tens of millions of yen
  • Lack of personnel and time to build EC sites for each country and provide multilingual support
  • Zero operational expertise in international payments, customs duties, and international shipping
  • No system in place to handle inquiries from overseas customers

Our Proposal & Response

Product Integration with Meito's Cross-Border E-Commerce Platform "Maimaiti (Mǎi mǎi tí)"

Product information was integrated via API into "Maimaiti (Mǎi mǎi tí)," the proxy-purchasing platform operated in-house by Meito Inc. With a system that lets overseas customers purchase products simply by entering the sales page URL, the customer secured a sales channel to customers in 100+ countries without building their own EC site. Payment, customs declaration, international shipping, and inquiry handling were all completed on the Meito side.

  • Overseas sales began within 24 hours through API integration, with no need to build an in-house EC site
  • One-stop support for international payments (USD/CNY/EUR/GBP, etc.), customs duties, and international shipping
  • Meito's customer support handled inquiries in Chinese, English, and Korean on the customer's behalf
  • Overseas customers' purchasing data obtained in real time via API, available for marketing use

Customer Testimonial

We had been prepared to build our cross-border EC from the ground up ourselves, but by getting on board with Meito's platform, we were able to achieve a "same-day start." Since we can entrust everything — inventory, payment, shipping, and customer support — to them, our team can focus on product development.
